Costello Jr."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>John was born on October 27th, 1921\u00a0in Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio.<br \/>\nHis father was John Joseph Costello Sr. His mother was Margaret Steinbaugh.<br \/>\nJohn had 2 brothers Roy F. Costello (who also was in the war) &amp;<br \/>\nThomas Costello\u00a0and a sister Agnes Costello.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1257\" title=\"Graduated from woodrow wilson high school in Youngstown Ohio\" src=\"http:\/\/storiesbeyondthegraves.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Graduated-from-woodrow-wilson-high-school-in-Youngstown-Ohio-228x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"228\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.storiesbeyondthegraves.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Graduated-from-woodrow-wilson-high-school-in-Youngstown-Ohio-228x300.jpg 228w, https:\/\/www.storiesbeyondthegraves.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Graduated-from-woodrow-wilson-high-school-in-Youngstown-Ohio.jpg 399w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 228px) 100vw, 228px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" \" title=\"west minister maryland college where he attend school also a military training place\" src=\"http:\/\/storiesbeyondthegraves.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/west-minister-maryland-college-where-he-attend-school-also-a-military-training-place-e1295617640364.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"91\" height=\"245\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He attendend Westminister Maryland College, it was also a military training place.<br \/>\nJohn was enlisted on 07-08-1942 at Ft. Hayes Columbus Ohio.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-576 \" title=\"335\" src=\"http:\/\/storiesbeyondthegraves.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/335-296x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"124\" height=\"132\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">He was\u00a0assigned to the 335th infantry regiment, 84th infantry division.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" \" title=\"post-622-1174711204\" src=\"http:\/\/storiesbeyondthegraves.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/post-622-1174711204-300x270.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"213\" height=\"207\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They where know as the Railspitters. He was in F-Company.<br \/>\nHe was awarded the Bronze star and Purple heart.<br \/>\nHe died on December 1st 1944. When his foxhole was hit by a mortar attack.<br \/>\nHe was KIA between Beeck and Leiffarth, Germany.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-282 \" title=\"Pfc John J.
